RPS Group have an exciting opportunity for ambitious Contracts Managers to join our growing team. We’re looking for an experienced candidates who can demonstrate their experience and knowledge working within the sector and successfully managing contracts.

Reporting to our Divisional Managers, we have positions available for Contracts Managers across our main offices in the North West, North East and Carnforth.

Our Contracts Manager role will involve:

  • To oversee and to ensure the effective implementation of the company’s Health and Safety at Work policy and procedures on contract sites.
  • To oversee contracts, to liaise with the client and to attend progress meetings.
  • To assist with pricing tenders and preparation of pre-qualifications.
  • Responsible for staffing and resourcing successful tender
  • To maintain a production workforce to meet your contracts needs in conjunction with the Resources Manager
  • Responsible for overseeing the placing of subcontracts and material orders.
  • To arrange and attend progress meetings as and when required.
  • To deliver required contract performance and site finances.
  • To oversee the implementation of the company’s Quality and Environmental Management System on contract sites, including workmanship quality to minimise the chance of defects and call backs.
  • To effectively supervise and manage staff and other resources as may be under your control.
  • To approve all strategic programmes produced for each contract.
  • To identify any potential claim situations and to lead the company’s efforts to produce additional recovery.
  • To be aware of the Company’s Health and Safety at Work procedures and to ensure their application as they relate to your areas of responsibility.
  • To set targets and standards for each contract under your control
  • To develop a team atmosphere on all contracts by disseminating general company information in line with the culture of the business
  • To provide geographical advice on tender submissions including subcontractor, suppliers, and consultants
  • To report on all projects Health, safety, quality and environmental performance, costs and values performance and programme performance as and when requested by your line manager.
  • To assist with any disputes, additional instructions and arising claims from site activities
  • To liaise with contractors/sub-contractors as and when required
  • To ensure contract compliance
  • To implement appropriate training and development for operational sites
  • To co-ordinate any design requirements for the contract works

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of working within the construction sector
  • Experience of working with both public & private sector clients
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Relevant qualifications/ experience
