EDRF Arrowfield Decarbonisation Project – Southway Housing Trust – Manchester

RPS Group has partnered with Southway Housing Trust to undertake the EDRF Arrowfield Decarbonisation Project. The project entailed the replacement of gas boilers with the latest eco-friendly air source heat pumps (ASHP) in 369 homes in Arrowfield, along with essential wall insulation measures.

Works were undertaken for our client Southway Housing Trust, who manage more than 6,000 homes in the South Manchester area.

RPS Group took charge of designing, supplying, and installing all systems including the ASHP and ambient loop systems. RPS installed the NIBE F2040-6 and Daikin EBLA04E3V3 models to provide heating for the homes in the Arrowfield estate.

Southway Housing Trust has set a pioneering example by prioritising environmental responsibility and tenant well-being with their Zero Carbon 2038 Strategy, with a vision of achieving a carbon-neutral status by 2038, well ahead of the UK’s national target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The upgrade to ASHPs promises to reduce carbon emissions by as much as 50%. Beyond being an environmental necessity, ASHPs are a strategic choice that ensures long-term financial viability for both tenants and landlords by helping to reduce energy bills.

RPS has good working relationships with all key suppliers across ASHP, and we are a NIBE Pro-installer. With over 30 years of experience, we deliver award-winning heat pump schemes across both residential & commercial projects.
