Project Description
Salford Sports Village
Our M&E Division undertook works to Salford Sports Village in Salford, Greater Manchester.
RPS where awarded the works after a competitive tendering exercise- following a through quality assurance process to appoint us as the contract who would provide the best value for the client.
The installation is contributing to the reduction in carbon and improved efficiencies across public buildings across the area.
Works consisted of the replacement of the existing Gas Fired Heating plant with a heat pump technology. We installed four Mitsubishi CAHV P500 heat pumps located to the rear of the building- this included trace heated primary circuit distribution, LPHW pipework from the heat pumps to the existing plantroom, new low loss header, pressurisation unit and expansion vessel, dosing pot, air and dirt separator and primary and secondary circulating pumps and new distribution and pipework.
All redundant mechanical services where stripped out and replaced. Installations included new integral inverter controls and installation of trend control systems. The existing BMS was a Trend DP System, approximately 20 years old and not capable of being repurposed to control the new systems.
RPS undertook all water treatment work and commissioning in line with CIBSE codes of the new heating and domestic hot water systems and carried out the design of mechanical services from BSRIA Stage 3-6.
Electrical works included the isolation and strip out of all redundant electrical services and plantroom equipment and the provisions of a new main switchboard, power to external pipework trace heating from the local distribution board- and the design of electrical services from BSRIA stages 3-6.
